We&rsquo;ve spent 3 days in Umbria and had some lovely meals and good wine&hellip; but this is the best we have had so far. Chef Stephano, who speaks good enough English and fluent French, went out of his way to explain everything to us. For an area that is short of fish dishes he had tuna and amberjack on his menus. We had a great meal, good wine and he spent time explaining everything to us. If you&rsquo;re in the area, this restaurant is a must!!!

Wonderful Sunday lunch when visiting Foligno. Welcoming service, lively atmosphere (every table occupied), and delicious dishes.

My wife and I live in a neighboring city much of each year and, frequently, try to find and experience restaurants new to us.  Prior reviews of this restaurant gave it high marks but none of the reviews had been recent.  We decided to take our chances and were delighted that we did.  The food was excellent and beautifully presented.  Alessandro, the owner and chef, personally attended to our table and explained his various offerings.  We sat inside because it was windy but, there is a nice outside dining area that filled up by later in the evening.  We anticipate returning in the next few days and bringing friends.

This was truly a great find.  Very attentive staff. Complements to Chef Stefano, who prepared some exquisite specialties for us.   There was  nice jazz music playing during dinner.

We&#39;ve been traveling through Tuscany and Umbria for the past 10 days and this was our favorite meal to date (and we&#39;ve eaten at a Michelin starred restaurant in Florence). This is a hidden gem and the chef is very talented. Our meal was absolutely delicious from start to finish and I just can&#39;t recommend this restaurant enough. Wonderful, wonderful food.

Delicious, creative food and excellent service. The chef is passionate about his work and his presence out in the dining room made us feel at home.

This was only my second visit / pilgrimage to La Lanterna as I don&rsquo;t live in Umbria. So I chose the same 3 dishes to see whether I had imagined the quality and taste experienced during my first visit. I HAD NOT! It was just as wonderful. And all the other customers were Italian which is always a good sign. And thank you Claudio and Paola for your lovely warm welcome. See you very soon!
